Building Services Calculator 1.20

The Building Services Calculator is an app crafted specifically with engineers and technicians in mind. It provides a suite of tools for precise calculations, built upon the frameworks established within the CIBSE guides.

The app currently incorporates three main functionalities: Metric Gas Sizer, Pipe Sizer, and Duct Sizer. Each tool has been designed to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and ease of use for professionals in the field.

The Gas Sizer allows users to:

• Select a gas type from Natural Gas, Propane, or Butane.
• Choose a pipe material from Copper, Steel, or PE.
• Input a heat load or flow rate, with options to convert between the two.
• View calculated gas velocity and total pressure drop.

The Pipe Sizer (Pipeulator) includes the following features:

• Selection of liquid temperature ranging from 5 to 100 degrees Celsius.
• Choice of pipe materials including Copper, Steel, PVC-U, or ABS.
• Flow units can be selected from Kg/s or l/s.
• Display of standard nominal pipe diameters based on selected materials.
• Calculated values for liquid velocity, pressure drop, velocity pressure, density, dynamic viscosity, and kinematic viscosity.
• Customization options for inside diameter, material roughness, and fitting pressure drops.

The Duct Sizer (Ductulator) offers capabilities such as:

• Selection of air temperatures from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
• Choice between spiral and rectangular duct types.
• Flow units available in Kg/s, l/s, or m3/s.
• Custom diameters can be entered alongside calculations for equivalent diameters for rectangular ducts.
• Calculated values for air velocity, pressure drop, velocity pressure, density, dynamic viscosity, and kinematic viscosity.
• Options for inputting fitting zeta factors and assessing overall pressure drops incorporating pipe lengths and fittings.

This app is poised to expand its utility over time as new engineering calculations are planned for future integration. It stands as a robust resource for professionals requiring reliable calculations in their projects.
